Titanium Sheet Plate 6Al-4V per AMS 4911 is recommended for use at temperatures from -350° to 750°F (-210° to 400°C). Applications outside this temperature range are possible in certain situations. The alloy is weldable. Complex shapes can be made via hot forming. It machines like an austenitic stainless steel.
Commonly referred to as Ti 6AL-4V (or Ti 6-4), this designation refers to its chemical composition of almost 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, 4% vanadium, 0.25% (max) iron and 0.2% (max) oxygen.
