  • ASTM F2146 is the standard specification for Wrought Titanium-3Aluminum-2.5Vanadium Alloy Seamless Tubing for Surgical Implant Applications: Covers the chemical, mechanical, and metallurgical requirements for wrought and annealed or cold-worked and stress-relieved titanium Grade 9 (UNS R56320) seamless tubing to be used in the manufacture of surgical implants.

ASTM F2146 is designed for medical uses, Ti 3Al-2.5V is a titanium near-alpha alloy, also known as ASTM B348 Grade 9, that represents a good compromise between formability and strength. Unlike Ti 6Al-4V, it has the ability to be cold-rolled. It is stronger than commercially pure titanium (at both room and elevated temperatures).
